Convergence Technologies Professional (CTP)

CTP – Convergence Technologies Professional is the largest vendor-neutral convergence certification program and is recognized as the official convergence program of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA).

Course details:Β
Topics covered in the course are:

CTP Data Networking Part 1

This module teaches about the Internet and Networking operations. The Networks Overview section introduces the student to the Internet and Networks including the Network Operating systems they operate on. The Networking operations section introduces the OSI Reference Model, upon which all networks system are based, the topologies networks are represented in and the protocols, rules and standards that regulate them. The LANs and Communications equipment section teaches about the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE), analog and digital communication, modulation, multiplexers, and the Synchronous Optical Networks (SONET) protocols.

CTP Data Networking Part 2

This module teaches about the components and strategies required in the building of successful networks. The Network Components section introduces the student to the different types of networks, their components, transmission media and connectivity Connecting Networks section teaches the architecture and operability of networks in different geological environments, the topologies (ie. TCP/IP) used to and how to troubleshoot them.

CTP Telephony Networking Part 1

Telephony Networking Part 1 is the third module. This module teaches about standard circuit-switching networks (in contrast to packet-switching networks such as the Internet). Increasingly, telephony represents the convergence of voice networks with data networks such as the Internet. This course contains six hours of interactive learning including pre- and post-assessments. The pre-assessment option can be used to generate a personalized learning plan for self-paced study, which could affect the total learning time.

CTP Telephony Networking Part 2

This module teaches about analog and digital signaling, integration, and troubleshooting. The course contains six hours of interactive learning including pre- and post-assessments. The pre-assessment option can be used to generate a personalized learning plan for self-paced study, which could affect the total learning time.

CTP Convergence Technologies

Convergence Technologies Implementation introduces the learner to industry standards and protocols, Voice over IP Convergence, and Topology Convergence. Beginning with international convergence standards, this course then goes on to teach how convergence with quality of service works most effectively. It also examines the key issues in convergence as well as teaching solutions to problems that arise.
